My Solstice Sunglass Boutique Experience

Sunday, December 28, 2014

For Christmas, my boyfriend bought me a pair of Michael Kors tortoise mirror lens sunglasses that were a tad bit too big. Since I'm a nut, I decided to drag him to the mall on a Saturday 2 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS to get my matching MK tortoise watch and bracelet adjusted at the actual Michael Kors store.

I asked if they could bend the ends of my new sunnies to fit around my ears better and prevent them from falling off my face, but unfortunately they just sell sunglasses and do not have the right tools for making adjustments to them. Off to Sunglass Hut we went.

A super nice employee at Sunglass Hut bent the ends which fit around my ears a little better, but I still felt like they were bound to fall off my face. She said since they're plastic frames they could bend them in half to round the front two lenses a little more, but because this particular Sunglass Hut doesn't carry Michael Kors she didn't want to mess with them. She recommended I go downstairs to Solstice Sunglass Boutique and have them bend the middle front.

I decided to go back to Michael Kors to just exchange them for a new pair. Of course the receipt was all the way on Long Island (if even!) and the manager refused to take them back. Not even for a store credit, not even for an even exchange - there was nothing they could do about it without a receipt. So we decided to give one last chance to Solstice.

I was shocked to see that there was no one in the store. I explained how I couldn't return these shades from MK and that Sunglass Hut had sent me over. The lady told me that they not only sell Michael Kors in their store but they also carry this exact pair, so I can exchange them there and feel free to pick out any pair in the store. I was shocked!

Who would've known that Solstice would take back a pair of sunglasses purchased elsewhere without a receipt but the actual store wouldn't? And my new pair didn't even need to be Michael Kors - it could be any brand I'd like. I was so pleased with this painless transaction that I just had to tell the world about it.

So here's my new pair of Michael Kors matte black on black aviators from Solstice Sunglass Boutique. To see my previous sunglass purchase, click here. I just can't stay away from aviators!

  3. At the heart of the allure of John Dutton jackets is their symbolic representation of the rugged frontier spirit. As the patriarch of the Yellowstone Ranch, John Dutton embodies resilience, strength, and a deep connection to the land. His jackets, often crafted from distressed leather or weathered fabrics, become visual metaphors for a life lived on the frontier—weathered, yet timeless.
