Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for Sensitive Scalps

Tuesday, May 28, 2019

It’s been a minute since my last product review! I’m no beauty guru, but I'm super passionate about hair care. I’ve always had somewhat healthy hair until about 2 years ago, something felt off... I couldn’t really pinpoint it, other than a probable mixture of a sulfate allergy, moving to another state (soft/hard water pressure varies by location, and it matters!), hopping on the balayage bandwagon + of course, aging.

Life Update: I’M ENGAGED! (& Other News)

Sunday, March 31, 2019

On Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, my best effing friend on earth + life partner got down on one knee and popped the question!  Even though Nico and I had spent the last 7 years together, I would be lying if I said I saw this coming — I was in shock beyond belief. Our journey together has forever felt like ‘new love’. I still get butterflies knowing he’ll be home by the time I get home from work, or whenever his name pops up on my phone. He calls me the second he leaves work at night, and we don’t hang up until he parks his car and says “I’ll see you in a minute” – every single day. & it NEVER. GETS. OLD.

I'll save you from the sappiness, but I must admit one of my favorite parts about our relationship (which, I promise has been confirmed by plenty of sources): that “third wheel” vibes don’t exist. Nico and I have a ton of mutual friends since we are college sweethearts... and nothing is more comforting than knowing our friends never feel awkward “tagging along the way" with us. And that is exactly how February 2nd went down.

9 Compact Humidifiers for Winter Air + Skin

Monday, January 7, 2019

It's officially the second winter in our Long Beach, NY apartment and I'm reminded about how badly my skin reacted after moving out of my parents' house. Being that I moved from New Jersey, only 2 hours away, this didn't make sense to me. If I didn't moisturize immediately after showering, my skin actually hurt from feeling so stiff; I had a few eczema flare-ups for the first time since high school, my scalp began to flake, and most recently, I'm suffering from that awful dry cough/tickle in my throat at bedtime. After much research (and I can't say I haven't heard this before... hi, denial) these side effects have to do with the heat inside your home. Indoor heat = dry heat, which explains my dry skin, dry scalp, dry cough, dry bank account, etc.

DIY Tassel Christmas Tree Garland

Tuesday, December 11, 2018

December 25th is creeping up and I'm still trying to get into the holiday spirit around the apartment. I had been keeping a mental note of all the Christmas DIYs I wanted to create this year, but seeing the abundance of xmas decor at every single store has me SO tempted to just buy, buy, buy! Guess that's exactly what they meant when they said, "'tis the season to be broke".

Guide to Christmas Tree Collars

Saturday, December 1, 2018

Call me a newbie, but I'm totally digging Christmas tree collars as an alternative to tree skirts. We purchased our very first tree from Michael's on Black Friday ― the 7ft. Pre-lit Full Willow Pine w/ clear lights. We would've loved to start a tradition & pick out a real tree, but we will be traveling in December and it would be absolutely awful to come home to a dead tree right before Christmas.
