A Toast to Saying Goodbye + Also Saying Hello

Above photo look familiar? The Beetique has covered many desk decor DIYs leading up to my grand finale post, where I finally share my office cubicle makeover. Been following? As far as you know, I turned my 9-5 job into the most comfortable workplace on earth and everything is dandy.

I re-share this for a very bittersweet reason, but to also announce some great news. And no, it's not because I'm sick of seeing chevron and teal everyday!

Today is officially my last day at the job I have called home since 2011. I have been offered an opportunity that I believe will help me reach my long-term career goals within an amazing industry. But, calling this situation bittersweet is not to be confused with how thankful and excited I truly am to finally move on.

Back in July, I was contacted by WeWork after seeing my desk makeover. I learned that their mission is to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living - which relates so well with my own. I was inspired to created a post on my medley: balancing work + a personal life where I state my own mission: "find three hobbies you love: One to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative".

I have, and had, all of that. My job + workplace here has been my hobby that makes me money, my friends + family providing me so much happiness has kept me in shape, and of course, The Beetique has been the ultimate platform of creativity.

Without the hobby that makes me money [my now old job + workplace], I would've never been inspired to launch my blog. The Beetique is my own unique way of expressing my interests, hobbies and passions. Aaaaand, I find so much joy in showing you how-to. Although I considered my past 4-year profession a stepping stone, blogging has kept me busy during the journey of seeking my dream career.

My cubicle's before & after photo has been floating around Pinterest for a little less than a year now, accumulating 8,000+ repins (proudest mama!) and over 30k blog views. See it on Pinterest here, and don't forget to follow @TheBeetique.

I will miss everything about this place, especially the convenience of only being a 35-minute car ride away. On the contrary, I am soooooo excited to start a brand new and LONG overdue chapter working in the most fab city on earth: New York City.

The new commute may be a b*tch, but the new desk makeover most certainly will not be :-). So as I pack up the last bits and pieces of my cozy corporate nook, cheers to saying goodbye and also saying hello.
